Difference in Nisei FMIC Street & Competition?

Searched, but couldnt find any answers for my exact question.
Would I even see a difference if I got the Competition over the Street Nisei FMIC?
I plan to run it with my car that will have a FP3065 kit, and pushn about 500 on race gas.
Is it even worth it to dish out the extra $$ for a competition?
I know the competition is .5" thicker in IC width and outlet/inlet piping, but would that really be a difference in power gain with my hp #s?

the nisei "street" is a damn big intercooler as is. it will support 500hp and more! the street core alone is 25x12.62x3.5

off topic, i heard that nisei isn't building products anymore. i have been calling them all week long and i get no answer. i just get a voice mail recording. can anybody vouch for this?

Did you try calling myevostore/motiongarage or were you calling Nisei direct? They have been out of stock for a while now but I don't believe they have stopped production.

And from what I've read (I can try to find the thread) the Competition core has less pressure drop across the core while still maintaining the cooling efficiency the street core had.

Hey guys,

The Nisei Competition IC should be back in stock really soon. I've been working closely with them on developing new products including the Nisei Turbo System/Kit. All the other products are in stock including the pipe kits, 1018 lowers, and battery kits.

I respond faster to emails than voicemails because i'm always on the road and/or on the phone. You guys can email me directly at rob@motiongarage.com.

That is true. Actually the competition core cooled better and had almost 1 psi less pressure drop than the street when we tested it with Nisei. We were really excited about the results. The thing is a beast!!

Yes, unfortunately the negative bi-product is time. It takes a while for these products to come out cause of the R&D but I can assure you the goal is to be the best with every product. 2007 should be a pretty exciting year for Nisei fans and Evo owners.

Didn't the Comp core replace the Street core?

I would get crucified if I said anything. All I can say is that it's not a turbo kit made with off-the-shelf components. I got an OK from Nisei to post up this photo as a teaser. As you can see the manifold is cast.....ok that's all i can say!

At the moment, yes. Nisei has stopped making it until further notice. There's a possibility the street will be re-released in the future and be compatible with the stock under panel, making it smaller than it was previously.
