My trans took a sh*t on me this pass weekend, 5th is gringing and reverse is sometimes a no go. If I'am thinking right these trans should look like a Passat 5 speed. Reverse and 5th should share the same sycro hub, somethings wrong with the spring and paw assembly... I'll figure it out.
I would deffinatly go with Shep and get the cryo treating, or maybe the Bushwacker modified transmission.
I am seeing if the dealer can help me out
If they can't I will either rebuild it myself or have John, or maybe Dan do it for me

Why would you call TRE when it has been proven time and time again that TRE trannys always fail before Shep trannys on equally powerful cars? Stock gearset with REM cryo is an awsome idea. If I were you I would get it, for 80 bucks its quite worth it. Mine should be back in my car withing a couple of weeks, I cant wait.
Shep is a great guy and builds good stuff. TRE does the same. I have had my TRE trans. for a very long time and I put down OK power. No problems yet except my short shifter which has nothing to do with the trans. I had a great experience with Jon. The man lives breaths eats Evo/DSM trans., that is ALL he does... Ming is Ok to
Back on topic. Ultimate CC you can't go wrong with a trans built by a guy that runs 7's... Good luck bro and keep us updated!

I ended up doing the full rebuild, replacing 1 2 and final drive and getting them done in the REM treatment...should have them back sometime next week or so...

You will save yourself 700+ dollars if you just get it done before you break it...its all depends on how you drive the car, if you abuse it and race it its going to break eventually...
