I'm never been in a car with a 50 trim but I have been in one with a GT35 with a stock block and all the supporting mods. I got to tell you I was impressed, the car was a beast. He also took me through some twisties and the car performed great. Maybe there was some lag but the car was so fast that I didn't notice.

As a matter of fact I just bought an AMS GT35R kit from a member here and I should be getting it some time this week. I'll give my impressions on it when everything is installed and tuned.

Ok put it this way the 50 trim is a better choice for just pump gas.. If you are going to get alky injection then i would go with a 35r. The reason why people are saying 50 trim is a better turbo is because of the spool. 35 will make more power even on pump then a 50 trim.. A 50 trim at 23psi will make X hp, a 35r at 23psi will make more power! Why? Because it pushes more air if its just a fact.

The lag of a 35r is just fine considering how much of a power band you will have. Put it this way if you never want to build the block just keep the stock turbo. If you want pretty quick spool with more power get the 50 trim.. if you want to spank 90% of the cars on the road get the 35r.

450 is just a number, trap speed is what you should care about...the meth alone will get you 115-118...

From: driving the 10 second beast in ohio or running lightmods.net
w/ cams ,ems, alky injection on 93 octane with stock motor /intake manifold (besides the cams and headbolts compared to your mods) i made 558 awhp SAE corrected at 29-30psi so i would say gt35r w/.63 backside....good spool and big power. Rev the stock motor to 8500rpms at most ....i did or you can go 8200 rpms which is where most people say is max and you will have a nice big powerband. BTW i drove around with about 500-510 awhp and that was enough to trap 129mph

It all depends on the driver and track conditions

true, but I think there is a big difference "hp" between those two turbos if we take it to a 1/4 mile
