Megan Racing Manifold back tbe??
Hey guys I have this shop that is opening up near me, he has a Megan Racing TBE with manifold that he is selling for $900. I went to Megan Racing's webpage and took a look at the manifold, its a $250 mainfold. I trust megan is a quality company, but i am wondering if i should save the money and not go with the manifold since it is a little on the cheaper side, unless anyone thinks that it is worth it and should provide decent gains and not break. The owner says its great equipment and I believe him i just want to get a few more opinions before i go ahead and buy. I actually got some Megan Racing Coilovers from him as well.
Gains on the site seem great, and there is anyone out there who has this system please let me know what you think of it!
Here is the link for the manifold: http://www.meganracing.com/products/...d=358&catid=86

There are many threads that talk about these manifolds, most state that they crack. I would say, as many already have, just get the Buschur ported and coated stock manifold. You get the same if not better gains from it, and it will never crack.
Plus I think the stock coated one looks better than the Megan, after a while, the metal on the Megan turns to crap.
And the BR one is only $195, cheaper and better, you can't go wrong.

I paid $175 NIB for mine, it's been 8 months with no cracks etc. I have a dyno chart from Billet Design that shows the Megan headers made a peak of 15.9 ft lbs. more torque @ 3500 rpms than the stock and carried it up to about 7300 rpms. HP also improved about 10-12 HP @ 3500 rpms and peaked @ 17.3 HP @ 6500 to 7300 rpms. I love the way they sound and noticed quicker spool and harder acceleration. For the money, I've been very happy with the results and recommend them.

BTW,
I just upgraded my exhaust to a 3.5", so I have a very nice exhaust for sale for less than half of what your shop wants. it's a tanabe DP, Magnaflow resonator in place of the cat(kinda looks like a high flow cat) and a magnaglow muffler, all 3" SS for $375 + shipping (shipping should be $50), in excellent condition!

Excellent OPINION. Non-Value Added.
I have had mine on for approx. 25,000 miles now, have almost 14 track days, and about 30 AutoX's. About 15 Dyno sessions, and many upon many highway pulls.
No cracks yet, and I beat on it like it owes me money.

don't pay someone to P&P it for you just buy a dremal and do it yourself. It is alot easier than what alot of people think. I have P&P my exhaust manifold, hotside and the compressor on my turbo.

Those are not exact numbers from a poll of Megan users....that was not implied. What was implied is the number of manifolds that have cracked (the many threads on here prove that) is too many to be considered worth the trouble of using this manifold. But such is my opinion
