Rpm Boost On Gt30, 35, And 37?
#16
What dont people understand? This is the third or fourth thread in the last couple weeks about someone wanting to run 35r's or bigger on the stock block.
WHY?? A 35r will not make any more power on the stock block than a 50trim or a 3076r. If your not going to upgrade the internals, you CANT use a 35r to it's potential. All you will get is more lag, and a slower car.
If all you care about is bragging rights, so you can tell all your friends, "yeah, I have a 35r" then fine.. But dont complain when you get smoked by Evo's with smaller turbo's..
By the way, this isn't directed at the OP only, I'm just sick of everyone wanting huge turbos just for the sake of having a huge turbo.

The more power you have the shorter the lifespan of the stock block will be. What's so hard to understand about that? Sure it can take the power now, but it will eventually break in the long run much sooner compared to a built block. It's only common sense. There is no point in making as much power as possible until it breaks. It will only cause more headaches. If you build the block now you will never have to worry about the motor ever blowing up later.

500whp is about the absolute most I push a stock block to. There are smaller turbo's that can make that much power. Why get something bigger?
A properly tuned 50trim with pump and meth will make 500whp.
A properly tuned 35r with pump and meth will make 500whp.
Which turbo would be more responsive?
Which turbo will give you the larger powerband?
Which turbo will give you the faster car?
It's not a hard concept.. I have no problem with people getting a 35r on a stock block IF they have plans to upgrade the internals AND run race gas. Otherwise it just makes for more lag.
Without internals AND race gas, the 35r is not being used to it's potential, and you should not even be considering it as an option.

my friend is telling me that i should start runnin e85 once i go with the 35r since i will be able to run about 25 psi and make a crapload of power top end, and i have cams , exhaust, intake, etc.
hes tellin me to go with the 35r bcuz i want to be in the tens and possibly in the 9s in the later future, but for now, to be in the tens, would you guys agree to go with 35r and run e85 daily driving on a stock motor ??? and also ill be runnin e85 on the 1/4 mile, so he says to run the same tune on street and track since ill be runnin e85 constantly on stock motor??? what do you guys think? go with 35r and e85 on stock motor(cuz i dont wanna upgrade motor, but already have headstuds), or go smaller like 30r on e85? pump? help please

alright, but for tens for example, and if i didnt have intentions of going 9's, then would i need a 35r, cuz it seems there needs less work to be done if i just throw a 35 on there, or would a 30r be just fine for 10's with a stock motor and then cams and would you advise usin e85 all the time, or pump durin daily, and then race gas at the track? thanks
