EVO VIII Upgrade Questions for Veteran Mitsubishi Owners
#17
I have a Greddy TT and used the HKS 2ndGen harness.. to my knowledge most TT's work with this harness.
Also, you dont need to hook up the ebrake wire and speed wire - making the install a 15min deal.
Does the Apexi SAFC have a harness??

Can anybody come up with the EXACT best mods for our EVO's? Everyone seems to add a little "insight or theories" to these upgrades. Anybody have a proven and tested upgrades with upsides and downsides?
I am so confused!

if your running that at just the track, than I guess you shouldn't worry, but I personally would not drive everyday above 19 psi with a 16G in my car

21psi shouldn't be a problem on Evos, because from the factory, they run pig rich.

With the mods I have in my signature, I ran 12.41 at 109.5mph. I don't have experience with anything other than the stuff on my car, so I can't say. If 12.4 is good for you, then my list of mods will do it.

Here is my plan of attack for adding mods to my car.
1. INTAKE - cheap way, drop in a K&N. Pricer way, RMR Intake with new piping to the compressor.
2. Exhaust - cheap way, 3" catback. Pricer way, Full 3" turbo-back with highflow or no cat.
3. Gauges - cheap way, Autometer Boost and EGT. Pricer way, Defi peak/hold/playback Boost and EGT. Add in a turbo timer here.
4. More Boost - cheap way, manual boost control and an AFC (HKS/Apexi). Pricer way, Vishnu Xede with control over the boost soleniod. Add a VTA BOV here.
Four Easy steps to mid-12s. Less than $1,500 the cheapo way. Somewhere along the line add a set of superlight 18" Volk CE28s with 245 meats. Mmmmmmmmm..meaty
More power?? Cams, hard IC piping, extrude hone the exh manifold and turbo elbo (yeah, it really does help).
More More power??? Turbo upgrade, larger injectors, fuel pump, clutch/flywheel, etc, etc.
