Flame suit on!!

For those who will ask I have searched and searched and searched. All I got was Al's thread about the HKS intake and a lot of people talking about Works drop in filter vs KN. I could not find the actual dyno graph to prove all the debate. I also found a thread with a lot of people talking about the KN and a gain of 5whp but never a dyno graph. So if you have a dyno graph for a drop in filter like KN, works or perrin please shared with me. I am planning to flash my IX in the next couple of days but want to make sure the money for the drop in is worth it.

By the way my car only has a works Axle back muffler and no other mods!!

I can tell you a WORKS drop-in gained nothing whatsoever over a HKS drop-in on the dyno

On that car it made 272whp with both filters, back to back.

I would imagine most drop-ins would be the same

Don't get an intake unless you tune.

Our cars don't like to get more air/move air without a tune..

So lose the axle back muffler... Seriously and get a TBE with no cat if possible and a manual boost controller, and buschur's or ams's air intake with filter(their both pretty cheap) then a flash... Or better yet.

Just get Warrtalons Evo IX stage 1 package.

Warrtalon/Buschur Packages:
IX - $1270 = 330whp
VIII - $1575 = 300whp
12.26 @110.0 - 93oct WT/BR

1270 for 330whp is very nice.... as opposed to getting a 3-400 dollar tune, and a 100 or more dollar filter for about 300 or maybe less hp..

Here's the link and enjoy

trust me you want the intake.. just dont beat on it until you get a tune, or just put it on right before you go for a tune.

guys, I don't want to buy a TBE beacuse of my warranty. I have a track car that I don't care to mod but for the EVO I want to keep the warranty and here in PR mitsubishi is being a ***** about mods!!.
That is why I went with the axleback and I was also looking to get a drop in filter. For the tune unless I change the boost map they won't notice and won't deny my warranty.
keep the feedback going for the drop in filter. Any word on the perrin foam filter

K&N vs Works, I would say that if one is better than the other it would be maximum 1whp. Why would you care so much about 1hp more or 1hp less?
Works has a bigger flow area than K&N.
I tried the foam type drop-in and my car did not like very much...
If you choose K&N, be sure to dry the excessive oil in it, otherwise your maf will be covered with oil.
