ie being at a stop on a hill, launching the car forward a bit, and then putting the clutch back in - rev's will drop, sometimes the car will stall. Some evos do this worse than others, I've been told its pretty normal.

If anyone finds a definitive answer, I'd like to know it!
mine does the exact samer thing. and its a lot wore if the ac is on.
if i acceperatea little and put the clutch back in right away the car will get pig ritch and stall. does this even worse when its on a hill. i think it has something to do with running an after market intake and with the maf. i have an hks intake btw.

You get a base tune or a custom one? I was going to go with the AMS base one hopeing that will fix the problem.

I don't want to do a custom tune just yet, I will wait till I do more things with the car first.

Thanks for all the ideas guys.
sounds more along the lines of your knock sensor, its normal for the evo to experience this from loud noises at the right frequency. It tricks the ECU into thinking the motor is knocking.

Shameless plug but I'm selling a MAF from my Evo IX if you decide you need one. It has 12k miles on it. I took it out because I switched to AEM EMS. PM me if needed.

No it doesn't. It is metal and works great.
