it says it's an option...most people just thread the sender straight into the oil filter housing

depends on where you put the sending unit. With my oil pressure gauge it was a really tight fit to put directly on the oil filter housing. I have my sending unit mounted on my firewall on the passanger side with that SS line

is there any side effect by having ss line ?
lets say u need to drop engine out. u think the mechanic could remove easily with this ss line than the at the oil filter?'

should i just hook the sending unit at the filter location? i m using defi guages.
i dont care about speding money , i m just trying to find the best way~

i personally ordered some ss line from summitracing.com and remote mounted my sending unit. i have stewart warner gauges and the oil pressure sending unit is less likely to fail if remote mounted
