Turbo upgrade
Hello
I am the tuner over at Tubochargers.Com. I have receivedpemission to post about a turbo upgrade weare trying to make for the public. The only problem is we do not have an Evo to do it to.I have been trying to locate a wrecked one but have not been able to find one yet.I am asking anyone on this list to let me no if the want to be the first Evo turbo upgrade on the market. We want to use the stock turbo so that you do not have issues when you go back to the dealer for service. We are pretty sure we should be able to upgrade a stock turbo to produce 500hp to the wheels with supporting mods.Maybe more.We also have a AWD dyno at our shop to test before and after numbers so the public can see the differences.I am very excited and really hope somebody will let us do this. Please e-mail me back at Turbochris700@aol.com or call our shop to let me know.713-681-1111
thanks Chris Wertz

The stock big 16g is fully capable of 300 to 350whp at least with proper supporting mods. Dave Buschur's EVO is at 343whp on pump gas and a completely stock turbo.

Hell.....I'd be interested in doing this....I happen to have an extra twin scroll 16g laying around I was gonna use in another project buuuut this is intriguing.
What would I be getting in exchange for the use of my turbo?
A discount from the first one? Would I get the original back?
shoot me an e-mail: kirby@manshegrp.com

The most common one is the upgrade to a 20G wheel and a 17C compressor housing. And a small clip on the exhaust wheel.
The problem with the Evo's turbo is that it spins in the opposite direction of just about any other turbo in existence. So to make a hybrid out of the twin-scroll 16G, you will need to find larger compressor wheel (and possibly a larger exhaust wheel) that has the vanes pointed in the opposite direction.

I would be interested in an upgrade that would reduce the turbo lag. I am not really interested in making more boost than stock. Maybe a lighter weight rotating assembly and a ball bearing center section?
