The reps think the rear. Everyone else thinks the "front".

If it is "rear" mitsu will cover it.
If its "front" then i will have to pay to tear t-case apart unless they determine it was a faulty part. Which it will be so i will have to pay for everything.

Either way im fuuucked. we all know its nothing but the t-case they are just BSing me around.

Best part of the story is later on i talked to the service manager who is really cool for about 30 min. He told me all this dumb stuff the reps were saying. When my aftermarket BOV went off he asked what it was.....this is why no one can get ANYTHING covered under warrenty!!!

Im screwed

same thing with me.. they said "we'll take it apart and if theres pieces of metal in it, its drivers neglect which means your fault and youll have to pay 1200 for us to drop it and buy a new TC" he then asked me if monday was a good day and I was like yea, a good day to call Shep and hung up.

ok well here is the update

Took it in yesterday and they put chassy ears on the car. Apparently they think its a bearing or something in the driveshaft. They put a call out to the rep but he didnt call back by the end of the day. So i dont know if they are warrenting it yet or not. They should though because they dont have an out now, they cant say its because of the clutch install.

I still think its the t-case, and the sound is vibrating down the driveshaft. But hey what do i know, im just a 22 yearold kid that knows more about these cars than the evo techs.

For now i get to drive around a turd cobalt. Ill update when i know more...

so they replaced my rear diff fluid, still made sound

replaced my drive shaft FREE, still made sound

replaced my trani fluid and t-case fluid with mitsubishi crap, still made sound

realized finally it was my t-case AND VOIDED MY WARRENTY

claimed it under abuse saying that it was apart to get my clutch put in.

calling shep on monday. mitsubishi blows, but hey i got a brand new drive shaft and all my fluids changed for free. wish they would have given me the 1500 they spent "fixin" stuff that wasnt broke

Yeah really that is so odd that they replace all that stuff and then void the warranty. How many miles on your car?

i had the same problem too but it only happend on decel...turned out to be the rear diff. it was replaced for free cuz the service manager was family, but he was pretty strict though tellin me mits was tightening things up, car had to be put back together stock because any after market parts would void it even if it wasn't related to the problem. eg: after market spoiler and transmission ...exagerating..

My t-case went out 2 months after i installed a act clutch. It turns out that mitsubishi gave me the wrong oil. They sold me DiaQueen 75w85 which is to thin and destroyed my t-case. The right oil to use is Mitsubishi LSD 90. Which i was told by shepherd and i read later in the owners manual. I paid 2550 shiped from shepherd for a stage 2 t-case with my core.
