So just got my heart broken on dyno

Yeah with all the mods in my sig I pulled a puny 282 hp and 276 lbs of tq on a Dynapack. I will try to scan the sheets later but I am seriously dissappointed. Seriously considering getting my evo reflashed and selling the XEDE.

I hate to say it but with the new features such as ecuflash being out and all of the great logging software the XEDE's and ECU+'s of the world are kind of useless.

This seems to be the case. I guess not all evos are created equal lol, who would think each ecu would react so differently to mods.

VG alone should have brought you close to 300whp.

I dont think it's so much the ecu as it is the weather, altitude, gas, etc.

X2!....I put down 270awhp and 271awtq with only 19psi and an intake on our dynopacks at slowmotion motorsports the rest is stock, no tuning! You need a retune bad!!

You should be around 350-360awhp (dynojet) with the mods above on pump.

On the surface it may seem that way, but an Xede makes available advantageous functions such as lean-run protection, wideband O2 interface, real time fuel and ignition map tweaking, real time map cell tracking (makes tuning easy), etc. Once one learns how to use these functions and observes the difference they make, it's not easy to go back. The ability to flash the ECU reduces the tuning load on external devices, which is advantageous in itself.

Recently released logging utilities and such have indeed improved the ECU flashing experience, but it's still limited and somewhat cumbersome when it comes to features and resolution.

If you are running an tube manifold, thats your problem right there, without a custom tune they rape your car for power. Not to mention that dynapacks are made to make you cry.

On the other hand, I've observed more than one Dynapak give seemingly erratic numbers that were obviously higher than a Dynojet. So on that note, they seem more likely to make one confused than cry.

I don't see either of these comments as making sense.

You can add a tubular manifold without a tune, and it won't harm you at all. It might not gain much, but it certainly won't "rape" the car for power.

Also, Dynapacks read like Dynojets - they by no means are made to make people cry. Like Ted, I've even seen one Evo make 10 more whp on a Dynapack than on a Dynojet in the same area.

Im so sick of hearing about low reading dyno's and this read's high this read's low.

Dyno is nothing but a tuning tool tune your car get your afr right where they need to be at you have nothing to worry about.
