Having tested my own Evo IX (one of the first sold in the country) back in 06 at high boost (30psi) and now running another Evo IX at 32PSI gives me confidence to speak about high boost on the Evo IX.

My current Evo IX runs at 32psi max boost without seen knock and running with E-85. It was my personal request to the tuner to please bring the boost level down to prolong the life of the turbo.

Post #3 best describe my thoughts. What he said is what I can echo. Many othet bolt ons "aliviate" and enhance the overall output of the turbo(flow and PSI).

A friend of mine and pioneer on 16 G turbos runs 34psi on 16g turbos by having the flapper shut closed and dumping insane amounts of methanol. Amaizingly he makes big power at high boost levels on his twin 16G 10.3@ 139mph Dodge Stealth.

Sumarizing, my personal recommendation is no more than 30psi, more than that you make little power but make big negative impact on the longevity of the turbo. Don't forget also that at those boos levels the intercooler is hoter than a oven.

yeah, well one thing we learned a long time ago running 32 psi with meth on 93 octane in an Evo 8, is it'll lift the head lol

No the same car is a sleeved, stroke and poked 2.4L 4G63, big 284 cams and a twinscroll 35R...850R sitting on the shelf, being debated over.

Long story short, if you have to dive into, you may as well built it!!
