Ported Stock Turbo Manifold Question

Iv seen where a bunch of people on here have gotten their stock manifold ported professionally., i was wondering if anyone has done it themselves and how hard it was? and does anyone know the average gains of doing it?

Thanks for any help

i did it myself. you wil need cast iron bit. I used my friend shop with the air tools. it's pretty straight forward. once you take your manifold. you can see the outline of the gaskets. just ported out where the gasket line are printed. the inner part of the manifold is where it gets tricky. it takes a lot of time to smooth everything out. goodluck.

We actually do some of our porting on a Bridgeport so it is exact. It also takes much less time. We can port your manifold internally for $65 which isn't too bad if you consider it will take you a couple of hours to do and some bits. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Not to be an ***...But if you would have searched, it has been stated a bizillion times that a Ported Manifold is just as good if not better that a tubular manifold. Buschur Racing did a pretty good dyno test on this subject...

faust, you are right that mr bushur tested it against other manifolds and said that only full race was better. however, it has never been tested against the stocker... I for one would like to see it being tested against the stock piece
