HKS Carbon Ti sound level? db?
Ive searched and all i've found is people saying "its not that loud". Well ofcourse thats all relative. So does anyone know the sound level of the catback system in decibels? Dont have to be exact but a close guessimate would be great.
It would be great if the hks owners could chime in and give their input. Details like sound @ cruising, WOT, idle would be great. Thanks.

It's not loud and obnoxious it has a low but not to loud tone. If you go to GruppeS.com they tell you the db level. It also depends on if you're cammed, or if u have a hiflo cat, or test pipe. I have cams, and a hiflo cat so it sounds louder than a stock evo with the HKS TI.

Gruppe-s.com has this info:
HKS Carbon Titanium Exhaust (bottom)
Type: Cat-back (USDM)
Piping Style: 75mm Stainless Mandrel Bent, Polished
Tip Type: 120mm Straight Cut
Resonator: One
Silencer: No
Power Increase: 10-12HP
Great info but still no decibels...

ok, i just installed the HKS Carbon Ti on my car with a Perrin HFC and an Invidia DP.
i have been looking around for a dB meter the last couple days to get an exact number, but haven't been able to find one just yet.
all i can tell you is that it is a good bit louder than stock, but not obnoxiously loud. it doesn't drone on the highway, and sounds nice and smooth, with just a little break up during shifting.
i was worried it would be overtly loud when i was first installing it, but with a high flow cat and the large resonator in the cat back, it's not bad at all.
i am gonna keep looking for a dB meter though, i was thinking of calling some stereo shops next week to see if one of them would let me pay a couple bucks to use theirs.
i will update this thread if i can track one down.

TURBO MAG. did the test. I have the magazine at home Ill post the db when I get home.
I have this exhaust with a hiflow cat, car has cams. This exhaust is not loud it has a mellow tone during cruising but at WOT it does wake up but it's a really nice deep sound. not raspy like other exhaust out there. My RnR tbe with the magnaflow muffler was louder.
