How is the weather over there? Maybe you can get away with a little more boost if its cold outside, but not during the summer.
I thought the US system of determing octane was more complex then a lot of overseas markets, so that 98 for them would be more like 96 (if it existed) or so for us. So that our 93 would actually be better/higher octane then overseas 93. Where does Taiwan get its fuel?

I'm not waiting for the boom sound, I wouldn't wish that on anyone, wtf man?
I will admit that I didnt see that it was 93 octane, but I was on my phone so that's my excuse hah...my other statements still stand though, it's a more efficient turbo, it could be very possible.

honestly this is all speculations to what we have seen and known to be true. maybe this car runs super cool and has no knock issues and 26psi is fine on 93 octane. i sure as poo know that wont happen on my car. i tried to get more out of 93 octane with my set-up now with only 24psi and the timing was being pulled i lost about 15whp up top. so im very conservative at 21.5psi

I've been running running 25-26 psi on 93 octane daily for the last 4 years at least. Some poeple need to back away from the internet and go do some logging once in a while. Even if you give up a couple degrees of timing to run the boost without knock, it has always resulted in more power for me. Another point worth making is that with DSMlink the CEL is triggered anytime knock exceeds whatever value you set, so I would have seen any random cases of knock from bad tanks of gas, and things like this. There is no problem running 26 psi on 93. I'm running it now in my EVO on the 20gLT.
The trick to high boost on pump gas is a large hotside on the turbo and strong intercooling. If I couldn't get away with 25 psi on 93 I would be concerned about my setup. Now how much power you make with that boost is another story. That's more about how much airflow you can move at that boost level. Airflow is power, boost is heat. A 2.3 with a 35R should be moving 55 lbs/min at 25 psi easily, which lines right up with the OP's 521 DJ WHP. Odds are that 35R also has a larger hotside for the 2.3, which only helps pump gas power and knock resistance (or probably avoidance, to be more accurate).

Hi Derek,
Nice numbers. This is almost the exact setup I'm having done. it should be back in 2 weeks. I am also having Jackson Auto Machine do a Stage III 2.3l stroker. Did you allso get the Statge IV head? I also ordered the Shearer GT35R. I ordered the tial 44mm with the feed back into the downpipe. I was going to yave Sean Ivy due the tune on the AEM. I hope my numbers are as good as yours.

Derek, congrats on the nice figures.
FYI, He's located in Taipei, Taiwan, where you can get 98 octane gas at every gas station. What he's claiming 93 octane gas is actually a 98 octane gas rated by Taiwan government but is more likely a degraded 93 octane gas or lower according the US standard. The 98 octane pump gas is so bad here I recommanded him to make sure he sprays meth and lower his compression. Race gas not available here..... life goes on......

hybrids14,
How much are *legal* s14 goes for in Taiwan? I plan to get one before the end of this year (in Taiwan). Do you have sources to get those type of cars? I don't care if it's automatic & KA, as long as the chasis is ok.
