Intake Question

I have been running the K & N Typhoon intake on my 03 evo. This was the intake that came on the car when I bought it. A LOT of people told me this intake sucks horribly, so I have been looking for a replacement. I am looking at the ARC Super Intake Induction, and the HKS Racing Suction. Can anyone tell me your opinion on the Best Intake for my car? My mods right now are ACT clutch ACT prolite, Buschur TBE & test pipe, and soon to be walbro 255, HKS SSQV, and HKS EVC boost controller.
Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

I have the ARC and love it. There is more filter surface area than the HKS. The ARC is also further away from any heat source.

I don't have any experience with the HKS, so I'm not knocking it, just really happy with my ARC.

I have HKS RS intake and I like it. It came on my car when I bought it. Only down fall is the price of the filters. They cost about $25 a piece and are supposed to be changed every 5k miles. I have been getting about 7k out of mine before I change them.

just throw on a buschur filter... no need to spend hundreds on an intake system with light bolt ons.... and theres no need to get a HKS SSQ BOV either... just replace that plastic one you have and get a stock evo IX, or a evo VIII MR one which is ideal for what you have.... i got one for sale.. pm me if interested.

+1000 just get a JDM MR/IX BOV or the Forge RS works great too.

the k and n typhoon creates turbulance and cant be tuned to make good power. its the pipe not the filter.

as far as a recirc setup yes the forge and the IX/JDM MR bov work better, and they both hold quite a bit of boost.

awesome, you guys just saved me a couple hundred bucks! I thought the HKS SSQ was the best, but after reading this thread, I found it's not. Thanks a lot everyone.
