Hey thanks for installing my intake DA-Evo
After driving my EVO for a day I can definitely feel a difference in performance. You can feel it's faster at higher end RPMs. The sound is also incredible. I don't have a BOV and it's almost like I have one. I'm loving it so far

The HKS air filter kit is the worst filter you can possibly buy for your car. After a while, the filter foam actually breaks down! It will come off in chunks and go through your turbo and engine!
Then there is the nice gap that allows unfiltered air past.
Most HKS products are pretty nice. They make the only cams I would ever install in my car. But their air filters are complete crap. Get a K&N.

So, stupid question time. Can you put a K&N filter in this unit?
And does anyone have info on the hks suction intake for the evo, how it performs? Or is this it ? (doesnt look like it)

OUCH!!
But that's weird. I had that filter for my other turbo'ed car for about 2 years and that has never happened before. What car is it that you had that problem with?
Hopefully it won't happen to my filter since its yellow

I have had bad luck with HKS intakes too on previous cars. I am going to wait for A'Pexi to make a kit I think (unless it gets too long, then hello K&N!) I have always had awesome luck with A'Pexi.

There was a test somewhere rating 4 big-name intake manufacturers, and HKS got the worst of the 4 for filtering ability, and worst of the 4 for power gains (being the only 2 valid things an aftermarket intake is for). Don't remember where it was; somebody posted a link here last week.
