thats the exact same set up ill be running. except a ECU Flash insted of a SAFC. but im on 91 ill probably get like 280 hp hopefully
Hi,
Here is my experience. I had Buddy Club 264/272 cams installed, then dynoed at Pruven (dynojet) a few weeks later. At the time, I had a Helix Cat-back with the silencer installed. The first pull was as I drove the car, 93 pump gas, and it made ~260 WHP.
We removed the silencer and ran it again, for ~300 WHP.
Al did his custome dynoflash for a net result of 330 WHP/338WTQ. When the cams were first installed, I had an SAFCII hooked up, pulling 3-5% fuel uptop. I had no wideband, so this was "untuned". I do not recommend it. After the 300 WHP pull, we uninstalled the SAFCII.
Anyway, with cams, K&N air filter (stock airbox), 3" DP, 3" RT Cat, and 3" exhaust, I made ~300 WHP on pump in essentially an untuned state. Definitely stronger and smoother with the tune, but that should give you an idea. I would suggest that you get it tuned....
Look in the dynoflash forum for a post titled "Helix silencer sucks" or something like that.

ApexVIII, your welcome, .
EvoRecordSetter, I am the one posting the graphs here for him.
If I say this are the results from a Cam change, then it is, since it is
my car and I know what change I made. Don't asune it was a boost change.
It was not.
The cams should be stronger allright, click on this link and see my latest tune and Dyno graph. Same cams as in 2005. You like what you see?

You think they can be improved any more? That power band does not drop at all.
It is tuned by Jester to perfection. And was tuned the same way then.
The thing some of you don't understand is that adding parts and tuning is
an Evolution. It takes time, and if you do things right , it will pay off in the end.
I got docens of this graphs, since I allways Dyno my car after a tune or a
major part added.
The reason the power band was moved in those graphs is because of the cam gears being set at -2/-1 as noted in other posts here.
I race on hi test fuel, therefore I tune with race fuel.
I run 2 maps. One for pump and one for race fuel. Nothing odd about me.
If you are going to break records, you do it all the way. You should know, your
name is EvoRecordSetter, .
I forgot to mention, my Evo went 11.8 at 116 plus on the stock turbo and this little cams, too .
