BPR= a longer tip (protruding tip)
BR= a regular tip
BP= a gas station haha. never herd of BP

and no, the higher the number the colder the plug.
9 colder than 8 colder than 7

7s are too hot. 7s are the stock heat range, and 8s are the next range colder.

Yeah, the P = Protruding tip. BPR8ES and BP8ES both work.

Not to get off topic but would you also consider these same plugs on 93 making roughly 350whp?

I want to get a gauge for the power threshold these plugs can be applied to.

I would consider them, yes, but I would use BPR7ES if I could get away with it. Use 7s unless you're blowing out the spark, in which case you'd get 8s. I only switched to 8s when I was tuning the alky on the dyno and sputtering my *** off from 4500rpm up. It's not a power threshold as much as it is a boost threshold, imo.

I also concur on the 8s. Per Al's request I am running BR8ES. I have them gapped at .028 and they only last around 5000 miles before they start misfiring.

However, not that I have a Green and will be running methanol, I will be closing the gap down to .023-.024 to avoid any misfiring (hopefully).

the 7's are a tad colder then the stock heat range i think. and i am running 7's with 400whp on 93 no problem gaped to like .026

i tried 8's and the car ran like *****. i think i had them gaped to high though.

the colder the plug, the fewer times u will be under there changing them. i would honestly stick with 7's for up to about 450+ whp or alky

Alright then looks like the first response was right on-Thanks Wart
I will be buying some BR8ES's gapped at about .022
I thought the DLI would help out w/ some of the plug "issues" ?

This is a bit off. The stockers are 7s. It says it right there on the plug if you take it out and look at it. It's an Iridium 7, and the stock replacements are 7s. Most people can't get to 400whp on the stock heat range, so you're lucky.

The colder the plug, the MORE OFTEN you will change them, not fewer. The colder they are, the more quickly they will foul out if not boosting hard, which means daily driving will wear them out quicker than 7s.

It's very unlikely to get to 450whp on stock heat range.

Ack, I'm not a Wart!! Sheesh. It's Warr...Talon.

You won't need to do .022 due to the DLI. That will allow you to run a higher gap, which is preferable anyway. Try to go with .028 with the DLI.
