AMS Ultimate Fuel Pump Test
#92
After looking at it a bit and thinking about it, it seems the the intank would boost the output of the 044 by a lesser amrgin, as it is less effected by boost. It appears at a glance that the pumps are sharing the pressure in that fashion. AT 80psi, the 255/255 series has it flowing comporably to what the inline pump does at 40psi. Seems somewhat logical to me that the 255/044 combo will react simlarly and flow 307lph at 80psi.

Indeed, I concur.

People have run the 044 successfully with just a syphon tube runnig down through the assembly with no feeder pump. There would be no point in buying a $220 pump to feed the 044 as you could just run both of them externally and parallel.

Martin does the AMS 1000HP setup replace the return line back to the tank? Another thread by another vendor is saying the return line is to small to flow excess fuel back to the tank with upgraded pumps causing excess fuel at idle. Thanks for the test and hard work as usual

I'm bumping this thread because it appears that the graph on the front page is missing and I'd like to see it.
I'm running the stock IX pump, looking to upgrade, have had a Walbro before, but would love to not have to listen to it.

I won't be doing anything serious... so I'm not sure I even NEED a fuel pump, but as has been mentioned... cheap insurance.
I'll be running (fwiw):
Cone Filter
Buschur TBE (no cat)
UICP
LICP
Using ECU controlled boost with a perrin EBCS
At least thats my plan. It's on a 9MR, and I don't really plan on getting much crazier than that. I want reliable (quiet fuel pump lol) performance... though, with the TBE... I'm not even sure I'd hear it.
