All this talk of balancer shafts is all well and good, but the balancer shafts are under no extra load than they are on the standard engine unless you increase the rev limit.

If sticking to the stock rev limit, which frankly you shouldn't need to go beyond, more so on a longer stroker larger capacity engine, then why are the balancer shafts likely to be any more problematic than on the standard engine?

Who says they are ok on a standard engine with the stock rev limit? Plenty of stock DSM motors spun the balance shaft bearings or locked up and tossed the belt into the main timing belt at some point in its life. Not worth the risk, if you have the oppurtunity to take them out, as I mentioned previously.

The 2.3L stroker kit runs a 100mm crank which is the cheaper option between the two.I have the 2.3 from Buschur and am not changing back to 2.0L for drag racing because of the advantages from higher revving
what car is this and how is it doing well in time attack?

I still vote long rod for dwell at TDC (and ALL of its benefits) and for the added RPM capable so long as the system is developed correctly.
