Cams to use with 2.3 stroker?
Sup all. Just stopped by to ask, what results has everyone had with their various cam setups? The reason I'm in need of the information is, that, I'll be going with a stroker in the near future and I'm looking for a set of cams to compliment it. Also, I have a few options that I could do, and I'm wondering if anyone else has any experience with these combinations of cams/bottom end/turbo:
Combo 1:
-Garret 3076R
-HKS 272's
-JUN 2.2 kit
Combo 2:
-HKS GT3040/GT3240
-HKS 272's or Tomei Procams[280 inlet 11.8 lift, 270 exhaust 11.5 lift]
-RC Developments 2.4 kit
Combo 3:
-Garret GT35R,
-HKS 280's or Tomei Procams as above
-Deck Mechanical Power 2.3 kit
Combo 4:
-Garret 3082
-Tomei Procams[see above]
-Deck Mechanical Power 2.3 kit
Combo 5:
-Garret GT35R
-HKS 280's
-RC Developments 2.4 kit
All run at 25psi on 101 octane.
WHat are your opinions on these combos? Note that the car is for road racing, and will probably never see a drag strip. Thanks gents!

There really isn't enough information here to give specifics.
'Road racing' has different meanings. Are you referring to tighter courses in which the speed changes frequently (i.e. lots of turns and such), or courses with high speed and long straightaways?
What is going to be done with the head and valvetrain?

Hi Ted, thanks for your reply!
I usually drive on courses which are high-speed. An example of which is Sanddown Raceway:
This is uaually the "type" of course I drive on; the others would be Philip Island and Calder, occasionally Eastern Creek and Winton Raceway.
The head is already off to be flowed and ported, springs, and guides are already changed out and the solid lifters are on order.

Gotcha on the lifters. Would I be able to speak with you more about this in PM Ted, specifically about the effect of the lower duration and higher lift cam combo on the stroker?

combo#2 looks like ur best choice for road racing. u want INSTANT power & waiting for lag could mean the difference between winning & last place. turbo cars need LIFT more than duration. JUN 272's have won more road racing events than all other cams combined!!! Tomei is 2nd in that category but Tomei has higher lift which will give u more topend @ high rpm. a 2.4L with a built head should still rev to 8K rpm no problem. GT3240 IMO is the best setup for road racing. quicker spool than a 35R & almost as much power with 1/2 the waiting period so there is more time spent on actual DRIVING...

I use jun 272 cams with a BR 2.3 stroker and a Gt35R.I wouldnt use the Gt35R kit with the 2.4 stroker kit from Rc,if you speak to Danny at Rc he recommends the Pt67 kit instead.
