11.5lb Mini Battery for $60

^ I posted the links to where I bought the battery and the terminals in this thread. I bought a piece of thick sheet metal from Home Depot for like $3 and fabricated my own tray. Total cost was like $80.

I've had no luck with this type of battery. Well, its the Braille badged battery to be exact.
Last April I rec'd a Braille no-weight battery from a reputable vendor. It was DOA. Local batteries plus told me "dead cell". I returned that one and was sent a new one. The new one worked all last summer w/o a hitch.
I don't drive my car in winter. I park my car in my garage and unhook the Braille and take it into my house (65~72F). It sat in my closet all winter. I took it out and hooked it up to my car the past Sunday. It was totally dead. Did not even take a charge. Its fry'd. No warranty either. been over a year by a friggin WEEK GrrGGRrr
The Braille are not cheap. I was a little fumed that I take simple measures to take care of this battery and it still dies on me
If I were to buy the above mentioned for $62 shipped I would not care as much if it died..... so I'm buying one.

How about the Deka ETX9
Physical Specifications
Length: 6.00 in.
Width: 3.50 in.
Total Height: 4.25 in.
CCA: 120
Ah: 8
Weight: 6.0 lbs.
According to this site http://www.beiterbatteries.com/ytx14bs.htm the Deka ETX14 doesn't weight 11lbs as someone stated
Length: 6.00 in.
Width: 3.50 in.
Total Height: 5.78
CCA: 200
Ah: 12
Weight: 8.4 lbs.
I am thinking on using 3M high strength double side tape and zip ties to hold it down, I think if the double side tape is strong enough to hold my front lip and vortex generators on my WRX at 140 is strong enough to hold the battery.

I'd say check the voltage across the battery terminals with your car off. It should be over 12, if it's not then you probably have an electrical "leak". If it is over 12 then get another batt and see if that helps.

My car sits for 3-5 days at a time without being started and I have the ETX14 battery in it. It starts fine, but I can tell the battery is missing some of its usual charge. If yours is completely dead after 3 days it could be due to your stereo or perhaps some electronics you added like an EBC that is draining it. Aside from that, may just be a defective battery.

No EBC, no stereo. I actually bought a second battery just to see and had both load tested and they're fine. Both are down to about 5 volts after 3 days of sitting. Voltage across the terminals is good. Do you know how many amps the car should be drawing when off? Alternator was tested and is fine but if anyone knows the amps the evo draws when off I can see if I have a short somewhere by putting an amp meter on it and pulling fuses.

to bad this wont fit an ETS tray. i have been searching for a battery for my car... We use larger deep cycle versions of these in our eletric pallet jacks...

If I am going to be gone for more than a couple days I disconnect the battery so that I know it will be fine. I have had the deka etx 14 for 2 years now and it is still working fine.. and my battery tray and battery combined weigh 12.62 lbs so I am pretty sure the battery itself is 11.5+-lbs
