we hit 114 mph trap with 310/310 whp/wtq mustang dyno. (33?? lbs with driver)

maybe you dyno'ed at sea level and now your racing at 10.000 ft?

correction supras can run atmospheric bov the hks will work well on a car like a supra for evos it is not the greatest you could use. it will not be able to respond as well as the rest of them. he needs to get rid of those silly cams and get some new ones gsc hks etc.

Did you look at the dyno link on post#46 ? @7300 rpm he looks to be down 50-60hp from his peak HP .

It doesn't matter, since he will have more HP when he shifts and lands in a higher rpm in the next gear.

Well with that dyno graph he has poor top end power .
IIRC there is a 1000rpm drop when I up shift .
So if my peak power is @5.3k and falls off sharply after that I would want to stay in the meatest part of my power band . And in this dyno( https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...d.php?t=255709 )it aint around 6.3-7.3k

EDIT
Shoot , this guy is a poster child for needing your cam gear/timing tips !

AHHHHMEN! +1

GSC S1's are unbelievable cams.

and i meant just the HKS BOV is still good. not to discredit it. they work recirculated and of course i personally like them venting. but they are good BOV. thats all i meant.

i would actually agree and say shifting a little early might actually help in this guys situation. every evo ive delt with have ran their best times shifting after stock redline 7k+ but this guy might get better results shifting before that 2nd to 3rd, and 3rd to 4th. not much earlier, but maybe 6800rpm. well thats what the track is for... testing and tuning, then when your against your buddy on the street, or that rich guy with the ferrari, you know when to shift to make sure you win

Since the guy has his dyno graph, can find the gear ratios used in the transmission and final drive, there really isn't any need to guess on where the right shift point is.

Keep in mind that the rear wheels aren't going to be seeing the same power at a given rpm in each gear. The dyno graph alone doesn't tell the whole story when it comes to shifting.
