Is that a service bulletin? does this mean its something Mitsu is aware of and notified mechanics what to do when encountering this issue?

New MR w/oil light problem

My MR is NEW - <1500 miles and completely stock. I just started getting this same problem when oil temp reaches 70 and I let it idle. I'm going back to the dealer and *****. I'll let you know what they say.

I did a search a couple weeks ago and found other threads with other IXs and VIIIs experiencing these issues. I really think its a overly sensitive or inaccurate sending unit but I would be curious to hear what the dealership says.

3 days ago I noticed my oil light was on. I turned off the car and checked the oil level. It was fine. Turned the car back on and the light went off.

At a stop yesterday, I saw the oil light was flickering. Revved the car and it disappeared. Car is an '05 MR with 56,000 miles. Might be the low idle of the cams I just had put in.

My nearly stock 2004 Evo VIII 26,000 miles started doing this same thing yesterday only at an idle and only fully warmed up. Today I changed the oil and put in fresh Mobil 1 and it is still doing it looks I might have to try changing the low oil pressure warning switch before I drive it anymore low oil pressure makes me nervous.

When the engine is warm, and your idle falls much below 850-1000 rpms, the OEM oil pump puts out very LOW oil pressure (5 psi or less). If you have a really lopey idle (cams) and your RPM's seem to get really low, this may be the problem. You may need to adjust the idle speed of the engine somehow (I think you may be able to do this via ECUflash). Install an oil pressure gauge just to be sure you don't have a more serious problem.

The same is happening to me. I noticed that the oil light was flickering on last Monday morning, but in the afternoon was ok until today that I saw again the oil light. My last oil change was 3 weeks ago and this is the first time that I see that problem. I had an Evo VIII and I never had a problem like this.
