Mine eats a bit of oil also (about 1/4 qt every 1k). I do rev it between 6-7k when driving hard. This has me a liitle concerned. None of my previous cars/trucks/bike have eaten oil and I've always thought of it as a sign of worn or badly seated rings. I hope this is not the case with my Evo. I regret listening to and breaking in my car on synthetic. I have never broken in any vehicle on synthetic but always switched over at about 1500-2000. I just trusted that knew what they were doing. I know that on Shivs dyno the cars that are making more power are the ones that were broken in on dino.
Anyone out there with an oil catch can? How much oil is your can catching between oil changes?
I need to use up these pit passes so I can swith to Amsoil Series 2000.

I just checked mine at 3100. Dip stick read about 1/2 way. I put 1 quart in and it brought it close to full. The way you prob are losing oil is that as the air recirculates from the valve cover back into the intake you do get some oil it it (i.e. why people buy catch cans). Then your turbo is bakes the oil into the lines or it is burned in the motor. I would also like to know from someone with a catch can (pref someone who has put a filter in it so it catches the airborn particles) how much they see in the can and how it related to their oil loss. I have used Mobile1 15w50 on my ford for over 3 years and never saw it eat any oil. Thanks for the input in advance
