....bbuuttttt you can aslo get a VNT version that would be insane on a 2.3ltr motor! have seen them work on a V8 and he was getting full boost under 3k!

We were the first to try a 45R on an Evo..... It was on our black car for awhile. The power was a bit more than the 42R but lag was substantially more. The reason we took it off was the 42R makes 100hp more a 1000rpm sooner than the 45R did.
This was on our Stage 3 2.0 shortblock. I would NOT recommend a turbo of this size on a 2.3. The 2.3 is limited to how high you can rev it. A big turbo likes high rpm which is why all of the people / shops with fast Evo's and DSM's run 2 liters.
With a bottle I would say this turbo would be insane but just running straight gas I would stick with the 42R.

have you seen the GT45V??? its the veriable geometry version of the GT45. comes with a T6 housing (ie MASSIVE!) but the intresting bit is the VNT. its adjust the AR from 0.40-1.7 i think! on a 6.6ltr LS2 one of these reached 10psi by 2300rpm and 15psi by 3000rpm.
do you think this turbo could work on a 2.0ltr evo??? i have seen T88's used on other 2.0ltr applitcation and they worked great! full boost at around 6k all the way to 8!
thanks Chris.

forget drag racing, if the VNT version could fit and work in the Evo, it would be an amazing sprint car.
oh just read some more. some of the chevy V6 guys have used this turbo. they where seeing positive boost on the line!!! imagine that with a little anti-lag in an Evo
Chris.
