Can I achieve 400 whp on pump with an evo green?

400WHP is sort of an arbitrary goal, a better goal would be a certain trap speed.

Also ~ is there anybody on here who has accomplished what I'm trying to do?
I would be very surprised if you made 400whp with the Green on an VIII running straight 93 octane fuel. So that you're not disappointed, set your goal at a more reasonable number; such as 370whp (and that's a DynoJet figure). And yes, you'll nearly be on the edge of your tune if you hit 370whp.

To me it seems like the evo green is better suited to those who often run race gas or alky.I can't recall a pump gas dyno sheet that would make me pay the premium over a evo 9 turbo. Is'nt the popular belief that for this turbo to show it's true potential at higher boost #'s than are safe to run on pump gas. Personally I definately want this turbo in the near future, Alky + 28/30psi should be real fun(every day).

You can certainly realize a performance improvement with the Green using pump gas alone (even the crappy Cali 91 out here). However, it will be up to everyone to determine their own cost/benefit ratio.

it is also my personal goal to hit 400awhp (DJ) and trap about 120mph on pump 93 with the Green turbo...

One thing to keep in mind is that you're not going to see a huge increase in PEAK whp #'s with the GSC S1's...

IMO, they tend to bring up midrange more than peak numbers, so if you're just shooting for an arbitrary peak hp number or dyno bragging rights, you may be disappointed. That being said, they definitely pull hard on the street and much more smoothly to redline, unlike stock. I feel that they should match up perfectly with the Green...

My plan is to add a ported Green turbo, 65mm TB, and ported intake mani, to my setup below. I hope to be close to 400whp with these mods. With my current setup and conservative tune, I am seeing 350whp/343wtq.

Still undecided if I want to upgrade my FMIC just to run a Green on pump gas...

I made 380 on PRUVEN's dyno, you should do good #s if you get the right mods.

I just think that your proposed goal would be easier to attain if you had a IX instead of an VIII. A lot of it'll depend on the tune as well. Will you be staying with a flashed ECU? At any rate, you have your work cut out for you if you want 400 w/o drugs on 93.

You're gonna need every power mod available and you'll need to rev it. FullRace header, AEM EMS tuned by D.B. or Sean Ivey, 65mm TB, ported intake, BR Race IC, ported 20G-LT, HKS DL-II, ported cylinder head and bigger cams than S1's would be nice too, and all the other usual mods..... and even then it isn't a lock. At least on 93 in an VIII, I see it as being a reach.

With an VIII you can't run as much boost as with a IX on any given octane gas. And on 93, breathing stagnant shop air, you won't be able to boost it as high or run as aggresive ignition timing as you'll need to. On 93 you won't be able to boost higher than 25# or run more than 17* max. So, you probably won't make it, even in Kansas, Dorothy.

not happening with stock turbo, and with a bigger one it's gonna need good tuning. I noticed the key word there "safe."

We had a IX here in vegas with every bolt on mod you can get plus cosworth cams make 409 on 100oct and AMS tuned.

That right there gives you and idea.

btw: it was upper 20's for boost

Your not going to make any where near 400whp with what your looking to do. Set your expectations a little lower, like 350whp on a dynojet.

Maybe I'm wrong, you could have a car that responds well to mods. Good luck on your journey!

Blockhed made 400whp on Dynojet at 21-22psi on straight 93 octane, he had all supporting mods + EMS.

The 400 whp is a subjective target I do realize. One can say you won't hit it, another can say you can. It really is almost a meaningless figure. On dyno A I might hit 403 and then on dyno B I might hit 379. Who knows. As far as the guy with the gsc s1s goes, do you like em? I want them because they seem to be a very streetable cam. If I wanted a dyno queen then I would list different mods, and I probably wouldn't have even made this post, at least not a post about a green, maybe a different turbo. I want the green, and these cams for a reason. It should be a VERY streetable car I would imagine. I'd like to come close to 400 whp *of course being subjective I know* There are 2 really good tuners close by. I'm not discouraged by what some of you say. Meth is a last resort, i don't really want it, but I'm not so beyond using it. I just don't want to. I'm hoping to have a very responsive, very streetable car.

400 hp

depends on the dyno , a customer frendly dyno jet you might get 400, but on a real world mustang BR dyno no way maybe 350 thats with head porting work, and all bolt ons

where's birdie...his IX MR made 380whp on dynojet with the green and all bolt-on's on 91 oct., and he's about to put on the AMS intake manifold and hopefully that will get the car damn close to 400whp...he's on stock ECU as well.
