It has to be at the ECU harness.

Maybe you connected the MAF to the Baro wire and crossed them up.

UPDATE: I've solved the problem see pics below

The 3 codes I was throwing sure were MAF related, lo and behold I just had to reconnect the two wires for the AEM AIT in the stock location and plug up the Boost control solenoid.....

I then soldered up everything together, hooked everything up, started the car and voila it runs smoothly..... with the HKS 280 cams it idles like stock with an occasional lump lump here and there, I checked for codes and guss what???

PASS!!!!

EDIT:

I found out that the HKS 280's were causing the P0172 code to appear. basically I had to put the car back to stock, i.e. stock ECU, injectors, MAF, stock cams, stock Fuel pump in order to pass.....

Once all the codes disappeared for good, it took me about 10-15 miles of highway driving at moderate speeds to get all the ECU "monitors" into a ready state.
It does pay to have an OBD2 tester on hand

I went for inspection today and passed:

I'll be converting back to EMS once I return from vacation ....and more go fast goodies will be going on once I return.

Wow, that seems like a serious pain. When I lived in NY, I used to just pay this mechanic $50 and I'd "pass". Luckily I have no emissions testing where I live now...

Things are different here now, Its harder, almost impossible to cheat now with the latest software that the inspection stations have....you pretty much have to convert back close to stock to pass in a legit way

Its worth it to me to have a fast car
plus I get to learn how to work on my own car...

all i can say is be prepared to devote a day to convert back to stock, then after inspection, a day to convert back to your modded state....., after that you'll have 363 days of power....
