how long will a exedy twin last

I am clutch shopping and want to own a clutch for at least 2-3 years

Some slipping, 25+ drag passes a year, less than 10K miles yearly.

People say do it once get the exedy, but does it really out last the single disc varietys.

I also hear single disc high clamping force clutches are hard on the drivetrain and transmission internals compared to the twin.

If i purchase the twin i will buying the sd not the hd

thanks for any insight.

i have the exedy twin hd.

115-120 trapping car since i put it on

70+ drag passes
150+ street races
50+ launchs on the street
i drive like its a rental
22k on the clutch so far

how's that for a resume =-)

at the same time i hear of some people having problems, but it somehow always ends up being an install problem. I'm not sure how reliable they really are, but i havent had any problems at all.

Cheers!

That all depends, install, break in for about 800 miles no launches, it should last you for a verry long time - and the most important thing if you know how to launch right

Tweak - yep 800-1000 of nice driving, kind aggresive after that until 2k, but no wot shifting or launching.

Fast - wow thats a lot of money for the install.... did you shop around for a bit?
you can buy your own lift for that much from ebay and do it urself lol I think the average going rate is 500.

Cheers!

Get the HD no reason to get the SD, HD has a very light pedal and engages smoothly.

Get the RPS twin Carbon.

You can drive it like you stole it form the minute you install it. 30k mile son mine has a softer than stock pedal and will bark 2nd gear at WOT.

I've cut many 1.45 60' time on this clutch no problem. On an average Friday night i'll put 15-20 1/8 mile passes on a track prepped to handle 4 sec 1/8 mile cars. The more it slips the more it heats up and the harder it will grab. Do it once, do it right. Last clutch you will ever need

well the shop is outside of atlanta and is well known around on this board. I think it was 9.5 hrs.

they have done hundreds of installs, and most of those exedy twins.

I don't trust shops around here.

AAmco wants 540$, the best shop in town wants 900$, t

So i'll pay the 680$ only because I know it will be done right and I trust these guys.

Acutally not popping a wheelie hazing the front tires a bit.

My Transam cut 1.2's on the rear tires & wheelie bar all day long.

Car has run best of 11.34@119 in the 1/4 with a stock turbo

60' 1.50
1/8 7.34 @ 98
1000' 9.85

the 37r setup has never made a full drag pass.
