It Broke!

After enjoying a nice long 500 mile clutch break in, my brother decided to take his IX to the track. Lets say he did not drive it home. So I'm hoping there is someone here that may know what may have happened. His mods:

Basic bolt-ons, S1 cams, Meth injection, 28psi of boost, Exedy single puck style clutch. Car makes 383hp and 395 tq on AMS's dyno.

Now at the track he was pulling off 1.6 60fts (using a 6000rpm launch limiter) on every run but never made a clean pass because he would mis either 2nd or 4th gear (this was not very common for him to mis shifts). This happened 4 times. On the 5th run the car moved about a foot off the line and stopped. He said the shifter popped out of first after he heard a thunk. Under the car was a puddle of blueish green fluid. One of the track officials found a relatively thin 3 inch copper bolt that looked like it was cut in half.

Now the car still drives, my brother was able to drive it out of the stageing lanes and into the parking lot still pissing this blue fluid. It did make a little bit of a whining noise on decel in first gear. But it would shift in other gears fine. We never got to look under the car to see where exactly it was leaking because it was so dark out. Car then went on a tow truck to a speed shop.

Now my question for you guys is.....what now????? Do we call ShepTrans for a rebuild. Will they rebuild a damaged T-case or trans? Or do they only rebuild new ones? Do we have to get a whole new trans or T-case? Please help!

getting someone under the car and looking for the problem would be the first thing u need to do.

so tow the car car to a shop, get it examined, and based on that you decide what you need to rebuild or buy new.

sorry but we can't help you without more info, so just go to a shop and hope it's nothing major

There is no blue fluid in the car.

Green is coolant.

Brown to dark brown is trans fluid or transfercase fluid.

ACD fluid is red.

Brake fluid is light brown.

Oil is brown to dark brown.

You must have run over an alien on the launch. Their blood is acidic, don't get any on your skin.

I don't think I was dillusional last night. The fluid was blueish green and it was thick like oil and not watery like coolant. Yeah I guess we have to have a looksy to find out what it is.

Do T-cases usually crack? Like the housing? I imagine if the housing is cracked we would require a new T-case.

We can't diagnoise blindly. Get the car on a lift and inspect it.

I'm just fishing for possible answers. I know we have to go under the car to fully diagnoise the car but we will not be able to do this till Tuesday (Holiday weekend).

I do have to apologise for the info I gave in the first post. We did have red t-case fluid spill onto the track and bluish/green tranny fluid onto the parking lot. The car did have a clutch installed at AMS so they could have used some sort of special (different from stock) shockproof fluid in the t-case and trans,

I am now hoping its just a half shaft. But we are also ready for the worst aswell.

AMS would've used OEM fulid in the transfer case no doubt.

Puck Clutch + stock turbo = broken car

Light weight shock proof is light blue and I have heard AMS does use that in the tranny sometimes.

Well I got word from the local speed shop and they say the T-case is toast. It split in half. The trans seems to be ok. After adding up all the figures everything came out just under $5000. This is for a new Shepherd t-case, Shepherd rebuild on trans, labor, towing, and shipping.
