RPS carbon clutch
rebuilding by trany and just looks like plates on RPS carbon clutch are worn. Does anyone knows how thin they are they ?? Rivets are quite close.
I do not drug race my car and only have 15K on the clutch of only street driving.
(I got the cluch originally planning to drag, but plans changed since)
I need advise.
thanks

Multi-plates clutch plate system have very very thin clutch pads/disc (whatever you call it), so do not get fooled into thinking that the pads are worn out.. They do not have similar pads thickness such as aftermarket 3 pucks clutch disc nor anywhere near the OEM clutch pad's thickness at all.. And 15K of driving is not going to kill any disc unless the clutch pump is faulty... creating unneccessary wear..
go take a look at a new disc and you will realise how thin the pads are and they can last realli good unless improper engagement (such as clutch disc not fully disengaged usually caused by a faulty pump or the clutch rod not fully disengaging the clutch system during changing gears) is performed regularly causing premature failure..
