looking for the best clutch to hold the power. if I have 400-500whp, which clutch would be the best to use for heavy drag racing, but still be streetable.

right now (in an eclipse, not an evo) I use an ACT 2600, it holds 420ft/lbs and is sweet for my 250whp setup. I'd really like to have a clutch that has a similar feel. A clutch that can have a slight amount of slipping so it's not a pain to drive. Which clutches are good so my clutch doesn't feel like an on/off button but can hold 400-500whp.

If your on a budget i would go with the act 6puck unsprung. I would get about 120 passes at about 500whp before it would go south.

Driving skill breaks parts not the clutch. Learning how to modulate the clutch off the line helps a ton

I have an exedy clutch in my honda, they're sweet, an act in my eclipse, sweet.

how are exedy clutches for evos? you can break a transfer case with a stock clutch, I agree it's about the driver, but what are the exedy offerings for an evo 8.

i have an exedy stage 2 and it is great! It grabs real nice and has strong engagement, but you can still slip it just fine! If you plan on going by the 450-500 hp area, just get the exedy twin and you'll be set.

Do you have an Evo yet? How much horsepower exactly are you looking at putting down? That will determine what clutch you need. For a daily driver with modest mods, id go with the ACT Street or the RoadRaceEngineering Noname (if you want 2 try 2 preserve your warranty!)

However, if you are really wanting to put down 400-500 HPs, then u r getting into the twin disk realm.

exedy twin, not too bad for daily drivability, little chattery, but holds the power well, and the only one that will last a while at that power and slipping at the drags
