this is a feeler, I'm thinking about selling my evogreen, I'm bored with it already and I only put about 500 miles on it maybe at the most.

I paid 1740 for it + shipping + 150 for the evo8 install kit.. basically 2k and I'll let it go for that (firm price, no waiting list here)

pm me

A 7 lb/min gain with no appreciable increase in lag can hardly be considered over rated. But, as with many other things, it's a matter of opinion.

counterpoint:
7 lbs/min for $1700 and getting your chain jerked for up to 3 months...

cost VS benefit

Dude, are you kidding me? 7lbs/min gain is roughly equal to 70whp gain. That would translate to about $240 per 10whp. That's not too bad considering what BMW owners pay to get an extra 10whp. On top of that, you don't loose any response or spool. Also, you get huge torque gains. The turbo costs $1700 for a reason. I think any sensible person could see that it isn't a bad deal.

Now that gain is worth the bolt-on/wait for me! Good points!

I didn't wait 3 months. Sometimes it pays to be an early adopter and not a bandwagon jockey.

The turbo picked me up an additional 60 whp without much effort. Getting the AEM dialed in and removing the MAS brought the tally up to 85 whp gained on race gas and 65 whp gained on pump gas. Not bad for the money I thought, but more importantly, not bad for the super easy install and ability to still look stock and run in classes where the car is more competitive. I've always been a big turbo kind of guy myself, but sometimes people have different goals. Judging by the number people that jumped on this turbo, I'd say I wasn't alone either.

Kjewer1, you hit the nail on the head. I'm planning on running mine on E85 soon. I couldn't be happier with my 70 hp gain! If that's "overrated", well I guess I'll be running an "overrated" turbo!

Oh, and it only took 30 days to get mine.

I went from 335-339awhp in DLL to 375-382awhp and I ONLY swapped the turbo, no other changes whatsoever.

40awhp gain with 93 octane and stock MAF

actually not 1700$...

Its 995$ plus a 300$ core= 1300$ plus 18psi wastegate $65= 1365$

Don't turn in your core, and sell your evo ix turbo = 400+

So you go the turbo for basically $965

true but not everyone can be without their turbo and wait for FP or BR to get their upgraded turbo back to them. I had to buy it outright which was 1700 + porting + install kit + shipping ... just over 2000.00

huh? I dont' think you will be without your turbo, they charge you $300 for your turbo when purchasing as a core. Once you get your evo green you either send your stocker back for your $300 back, or you keep your stocker and sell it on here. I think it would be smarter to sell it on here, and pay the $300 core charge.

correct me if your wrong.
