For street use, on pump gas, I´d say the 20G-LT, a.k.a., the EvoGreen, would be clearly superior to the 3071. The Green can be had for a total price which makes the 3071 comparatively speaking a loser´s proposition. I don´t know anything about Drag Racing or closed-circuit, though. So I´ll just keep my trap shut.
The compressor side of the two turbos, move almost identical air at about 48-49 lbs./min. So it goes to reason that peak power is gonna be fairly close. Although, and just maybe, the 3071 would exhibit a slight power advantage at the highest boost levels on race gas. On pump gas however, the Green is the clear winner. The 30 requires high octane fuel to really get into its sweet spot.
In a way the 20G-LT is an overachiever as it outspools the 3071 on journal bearings. The 3071 on the other hand, is laggier inspite of spinning on a ball bearings. Furthermore, if you should go with the 3071, then you´ll need a complete turbo kit, whereas the 20G-LT is a direct bolt-on.
Ultimately, the 20G-LT gives faster spool up, similar peak power potential at a considerably lower overall price. So for the street at least, the 20G-LT is clearly more turbo for the money.

You´ll find it by searching on the Drag Racing sub-forum. However, I´d be willing to bet you my allowance and a week´s worth of lunch money, that given the same setup and driver using straight pump gas, the Green turbo will beat an identically equipped 3071 car in the 1/4.

my 20g should be in soon soon, I can't wait to see what kind of power I can get out of it on pump gas since that's what I'll be running 99.9% of the time. I've seem some figures placing it from 350-400awhp with various supporting mods.
I have the 20G, ported/coated stock mani on the way and will be ordering the FMIC.

My understanding was that you really had to turn up the boost on the 20LT to make high hp numbers(25-30psi). That would put it well into the race gas range. On pump gas I thought the 20Lt only produced about 20hp over the IX turbo. The 3071 is capable of close to 400hp pump gas with 20-21psi. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I would be running pump gas just about all the time with maybe just a splash of race gas for added protection.

the two turbos spool nearly the same. at 21psi the 20g typically makes 360-370 whp. the 3071 makes 400whp at 21psi. you wont find a post of anyone maxing out a 3071 at max boost 35+psi falling to 27 at redline. the 3071 is a turbo that no one chooses. for the money the 20gLT makes much more sense. also when someone considers the 3071 they usually choose the 3076 for more power potential. I did alot of surfing on this turbo looking for numbers. The highest numbers I found were 440-460 dynojet. But the setups didn't sound maxed out.

and there is a guy on here that made 440 on 93 octane with the 3071 at 25psi. I was quoting average numbers not the highest. buschur had a car that made 360whp on his low reading dyno on pump. shiv had a car do 370 on his low reading dyno as well. both on the 3071. there are lots of ways to run the 3071 as far as hotside goes so spool reports are gonna vary.
