Well good and bad news from the Summer Slam
The good news is that once again I had a full weekend of testing and driving with no problems and the motor (Buschur) - Trans and transfer case (Shep) and driveshafts (Drive shaft shop) are all holding up to the abuse perfectly
Also great news - I sorted the launch issues out really well and now the car is leaving the line really hard
Also great news is I was the 4th quickest in the Q16 class and also the second fastest car in the field - beind a 8 second corola
Best of all - I obtained a best ever 60' time of 1.48 !!!!!! this afternoon
The bad news is that I red lit and also mised my 2 - 3 shift on the last pass of the day - therbey wasting the 1.48 short time and loosing to a 10.7 car in the q16 bracket class with a 10.0 @ 140
I have become quite the buffon driver in the past year
At least my car is ready to roll backm out to the track and all dialed in - now if only I can make the shifts !

What happend is that the acceleration in 1 - 2 nd gear was so fast I was not prepared for such a quick shift into 3rd
I tell you this hobby is an illness - I can't rest till I can get back out to the track and put together a full pass

I an sure there will be many videos as the guy who beat me (Tony) was fairly jazzed up about beating a 1000 hp Evo with a Hyundai (1st gen DSM swap) To his credit he did pull nearly perfect .001 r/t and ran a 10.70 to his 10.77 index (.50 break out permitted).
Sadly, despie his best efforts, If I had not screwed up, it appearded I would have had him covered with ease. My shifting fiasco wasted 3 full seconds before I finally shifted into 4th and then back to 3rd. My dial in was an ideal 9.9 and I sohould have been able to get down to a 9.5 with that pass - oh well.
On the good side, I am very happy about the engine that Buschur Racing made me, I have a lot of 9 second and 150 plus mph runs in this engine this season and its going 100% strong and reliable.
Its taken me a long time and a lot of testing to dial in this Gt42 R set up so it runs good. Boost management, anti lag, no llift shft, etc are all areas of engine management that are really not an issue for daily driven customer cars, however these areas of tuning are the keys to going fast on a small engine with a large turbo.
I am confident that now finally the car is ready to start to produce some decent numbers. However, as they say - action speaks louder than words.
