Some pics from the Event (I only had time to take a few on Saturday - today it was mobed and I had no time at all)
Thanks to all the Evo customers who stopped by to say hello and wih me luck this weekend. I appreciate your support and attendance at these events.
The Porsche is Eddie Bello's who ran an amazing 9.7 @ 151 on a true street driven machine, sadly he broke a half shaft in the semi final. He was supposed to race me but he defected from the Q16 class for some reason after he and I were lined up to face off in the first round of qualification - he ran to Street Tire
The scion crew really has a lot of fun for a bunch of slow pokes
This triple rotor - triple turbo RX what ever is ruomored to cost $300,000 - the nicest drag car I have ever seen. The entire interior and exterior are carbon fibre
Two Evos representing - one is the personal Evo of NHRA Sport Compact Tech Director Javier Ortega - the car seemed to have problems did not fare well

Wow a story from a different perspective!!!
I woke up 6 am Sat, after repeated calls from Dynoflash the night before.
I went to the shootout with my ac equipped factory auto trans street legal supra.
I only have a 10.00 legal rollbar.
I entered the street tire class.
I ran 10.7 on my qualifier on the brakes.
I ran one of my customers with a reflash he ran 11.0@124 shifiting into 5th MR.
I ran an Evo owned by my friend Javier Ortega, driven by Paul who used to work at TT, I ran 10.4@87 mph on the brakes (Paul please come with something faster if you want to talk nonsense before the race!)
I was supposed to run the 911 porsche of Eddie Bello in the finals of street tire.
He broke his axle in the round before, so I raced the finals myself.
I let it loose for the first time all weekend, 9.6@146, collected my $1000 a drove home, no prep no nothing haven't raced all yr!!!

You are driving a automatic trans supra with nos - I would think those cars are supposed to be easy to drive ?
Kind of like a camaro or mustang with an auto trans and nos - same kind of car to drive
There were only a few slow cars in the street tire class - kind of like a band of drawrfs being picked on by a big bulley in a fast supra - very unsporting if you ask me
You are lucky that I did not come in the street tire class otherwise you may have had some competition
Anyway congrats on your win in the street tire class

Sean - and what is your point ?

It was farily pathetic the showing of the TT driven - Javier Ortega owned Evo which has been being built for the past two years
I have a personal distane for evos with parachutes which cant run over 130 mph - just a personal issue
I think Javier should stick with promoting his excelent events and stay out of the evo tuning scene as so far his car is not very fast at all
Anyway congrats on your win in the street tire class

Haven't you been building your car since 2003?

Yes I have - while I have been building it constantly when I have time - I also have been racing it and driving it constantly the whole time
Thus far
It was the first USDM Evo 8 to go 11's
It was the quickest & fastest USDM EVo 8 for nearly a full year
Made it to the finals in every DSM Shootout Ev Eliminator class race and won one
Won several WRX vs Evo Races
Won 2 times in the TT Mistsubishi day race
Won best appearing car at a NHRA race - 2004
Been on the cover of Turbo Magazine and several others
Etc
And - the car has been running 9 second passes consistantly all season this year at 3200 lbs
I am fairly pleased with my progress to date
Of course there is always room for improvement - that is what I am working on even as we speak
