Smoking problem...

Hey guys i have a problem with my car smoking. The deal is that i have an oil leak which is getting fixed wed but i dont think that this is part of my other smoke problem. It has gotten super bad in the last couple of weeks. Basically what is happening im getting smoke out of the exhaust. Now the thing that scares me about this is its white. If im correct that would be oil right? Now i know its hard to say its coming from here or there but i dont think its part of my oil leak. Reason i think that is becuase the leak is at the feed line at the top of the turbo. And its dripping down on the center section and its gotten so bad that its now all over the turbo the block and so forth. But what may be causing the smoke out of the exhaust. I honestly think thats where its coming from cuase i can look behind myself out the window or mirros and its coming from the right side where the exhaust is at. Not just underneath the car that i can tell. It does it weather im in boost or just cruising out of boost. Im assuming it could be a couple of things either a head gasket or even the seals in the turbo. What do you guys suggest to look at.

There are some pics. Obviously the first one is the flange where its leaking from. The second is oil that has been leaked. And the rest are the oil that is on the back of the car froim a 60 mile drive..

White smoke is from coolant. if it were oil it would be a blueish color. it could be a number of things however a common cause is a blown head gasket. I don't mean to scare you, but you should get it looked at.

Usually white smoke indicates coolant, however I've definitely seen some weird oil burn a white/gray color as well. Smell your exhaust, does it smell like coolant? Can you feel the steam and moisture coming from it? Your best bet is to drain your coolant and oil and see if either one has mixed with each other. Also pay attention to your coolant level (see if it goes down after a few days).

Looks like you have a oil return/feed line that is leaking/loose. You can see all the oil on your undertray. Do not dive it like this. This may have caused the turbo seals to go bad from overheating.

Good luck!

For the oil to be all over the car, as in your photos, it is not coming from the tailpipe but from up front. The airstream is carrying it all over the car. Fix the leak, clean up the underhood mess and all should be good.
