would you say this is blow by and some det you can see from the piston? lol...
you know whats sad? this isnt the reason the head had to come off again. (i emphasize again...)

wow,
that looks bad. Maybe the light in the photo, but your cylinder or piston doesn't look round at all. Between 9-10 o'clock, there seems to be a gap between the piston and cylinder that is quite large.
Is it the lighting, or is that real? After a second look it looks like you're missing quite a bit of piston above the ring in that area.
The divets in your piston look like major detonation.

pits and divets are detonation and valve bits
the gaps I think are from blow-by/"burn-by" as they are smooth and not from thermal expasion as the cylinder walls aren't scored...
?

well that cylinder/piston wasnt hit by the valve nor was there any remains of one in there. this is the only piston that is diveted like that. ill put my stock in detonation.
the piston was def. suffering from blow-by thats a huge gap, i should post the other pic of the un-damaged piston

Looks like detonation may have broke the edge of the piston off. From there the piston material bounced around in the cylinder, causing the damage on the piston top.
The nicks in the piston are from something physically hitting the top and not from detonation. Detonation will cause pitting, but not scoring and gouging like that.
That is the cause of the blow-by, and not the results of blow-by.
