in the summer H2O is fine, just make sure you use distilled water - you don't want mineral build-up. when it gets cold switch to windshield washer fluid. I doubt you will be using the IC sprayer much but you don't want the lines to freeze.

-And make sure you run all of the H2O out of the lines before it gets too cold!

Washer Fluid all the time.
Washer fluid is alcohol based and works better because it dissipates heat better and evaportates.
It doesn't do that much anyway, but your better off with washer fluid.

Except that washer fluid is methanol based and methanol is corrosive to aluminum (e.g. intercooler).

My take on this is run water in the summer when cooling a potentially heat soaked intercooler makes sense and use the washer fluid for winter storage.

For example refer to,

mineral water?? sounds like overkill to me... the IC gets soaked with all kinds of crappy run-off water and rain water whenever it rains... What difference can a little bit of tap water make coming off the spray nozzles??

Is there a way to plug up the Resoviour so you can fill it up all the way? I want to but it leaks out.

I guess it depends on how much crud is in your water.....

Do you really think there is enough metanol in there and you would use it enough to really cause any corrosion? Plus, it is being sprayed over the intercooler and will dissipate very fast due to the fact the IC is hot.

Sorry, gettin' old I'm a bit dislexic... I meant "distilled water? seems like overkill..."

Anyway, I think the elements are far more harsh than any little bit of tap water that one might spray on the IC.... Same would go for the weak methanol mixture... Seems like that's worrying a little too much?...

Just my $.02

I dunno... I know a couple of people that have lost engines after their radiatiors gave out because of mineral buildup. But to each their own....

That would be mineral deposits inside their radiators... Never heard of a radiator failing from mineral deposits due to the outside of the radiator getting wet.....

Of course there is. Anything is possible.
If I remember correctly the drain hose is right there on the side, the clear one. Just plug it up. I don't know why they did it with the drain so low on the tank like that but wonder if the had a reason. The trick mod would be to get a billet tank and replace the stock one. Would be easy enough to do too.
