4G63 Lower Blocks

Am driving a IX now & wanna know if the lower blocks from the earlier generations,
etc Evo4,5,6,7 & 8 can be paired with my IX's cylinder head.

Opinions & advices much needed & appreciated.

Thanx
Victor

I believe the block is the same. Just the heads are different due to MIVEC

I thought so too but heard of some cooling lines to work with the Mivec found on the IX's block which are not on the earlier 4G63s.

Any issues if we were to work without these cooling lines?

Thanx!

There is a boss in the back of the 8 block that needs to be tapped for the oil feed for MIVEC.

I know the exsact answer to this, Yes and NO.

Lower block internals are the same, But you cannot put the evo IX head on it because of the new water journals in the newer head, just go to AMS website and look at the head gaskets.
