Differene btw Exedy SD and HD?

I have heard that the HD holds more torque, but what are the main differences between the Exedy twin SD and HD? Are the discs different material? How much torque/power can the SD handle?

I've tried searching but this info is not there.

Thanks

I came upon a great deal on a SD though.

Is the only difference stronger diaphram spring? Same discs?

Al, how much power is the SD intended for?

Thanks

The SD is not recommended, and that's probably why you got a great deal.

Is everyone gonna tell this guy it's just not recommended or actually tell him why?

Turbojunk,

from what I know, the SD and HD share the same cerametallic discs, but the HD has a 2900lb plate vs the 2200 for the SD. Hence, some people have had lockout, disengagment problems. The price differnce new is small, so that's why everyone picks the HD.

If you;re sticking under 350whp with relatively mild bolt ons, I don't see why the SD wouldn't work (assuming you are getting it for a good deal used)
