stock internals

There is no set limit. It depends on how hard the car was previously beat on and will be in the future, type of fuel used/being used, the tune, mileage of stock components, random failures due to other parts (oil pump, timing belt, etccc) and on and on. Assuming the motor is in good shape before hand it should be able to handle 550 whp on a dynojet assuming you only drive it on the street and rarely see boost/full boost. If your trying to drag/road race with 550 whp that sucker won't last long. If you feel like your going to be pushing the limits, either scale the power back a bit or fork up the money for a built motor. Keep the other factors in mind though.

in my case, having my motor blow out on me only at 18k miles after a fresh tune, i'd keep it in the 450 range. yeah i've only made 394 whp but the fact that something's gotta/gonna give, and the moment you see it for yourself.....oh boy
but 550 is what ive seen so far with stock internals...wont last long (if you drive like you stole the car) .....if you drive like a grandma (but have the urge of a speed racer here and there...not often though) then your good for a while

lemmonhead, bud you need to research you post. the FQs all use stock internals, and the model name is not the actual whp, if you notice the number they release is bhp, which is the output at the flywheel on a engine dyno with corrections applied to show the loss of power due to normal accesories, alt., water pump, etc.. my opinion is just tune for the simple bolt-ons, and save your pennies to build the motor to be reliable as well as a high output power plant.
