Good job with the OE ECU! Gives hope to the ever increasing majority who HAVE to use the OE ECU as the noose tightens around the majority of daily driven Evo owners necks. I know already in the major Metro areas of Texas you can't get your car inspected without passing the OBD-II read test. Also there is the ever increasing lobbying to make it a Federal statue.
Can't wait to see you break 500whp!

thanks guys...
did some pulls yesterday, still in the 480-490whp range...
we are on the edge of being stupid at this point... so i may have to be happy with 499.7... but its still not 500. hee he.
we are running hksdli-2... we were having spark issues before, with all kinds of plugs and gaps etc.... we have hit 30psi now... without blowing the spark out...
we are running NGK br8eix non protruded tip iridiums.. they are at the stock gap (i beleive .26) and are working well.....

I know this sounds weird, but you may want to swap in a set of copper plug just for kicks and run the car again. It would be interesting to see if there is a difference (as some claim), and if so, you'd get your 500whp. I might mention that there could be a change in detonation threshold as well, so I might look for it before drawing any conclusions.
Just a suggestion.

we were using coppers before... without much success in this motor... we used the 8's, 7's, etc... we had to gap them to .18 to keep them lit up over 24psi... car would break up regardless at 27psi...
but... we play with every little thing on the car.... so ill probably try again..
we are going to change to stock cams, dial them in... then some more basic cams, and dial them.. and see what happens...
and... well, maybe more displacement
