Evo IX, stock turbo, Aquamist HFS-5, 30 psi. Dyno Results.

(this is posted in the water injection forum but I figure I'd post it here as well since a lot more people will see it)

I went to turbotrix today to get the Aquamist kit buttoned up with some wiring, the aem boost solenoid installed, and finally on the dyno.

I have some good news and potentially bad news...

Heres my dyno before the aquamist at 23psi:

Here it is after with the .9mm and 1.0mm nozzles without restrictor pills at 30psi:

Now on to the bad news. Mark was running the car pretty hard on the dyno repeatedly to tune my base map, the aem boost solenoid, and then my car on the meth and 30psi. He let the car sit awhile and cool between each session.

On the final run the coolant reservoir started to overflow. I'm not sure if it was from the repeated runs or from the head lifting... There were a lot of runs done (15-20) so maybe it heated up a bit...i'm not sure

I bought some ARP's and I'm going to install them tomorrow me thinks.

The car drove home completely fine on the boost turned down to 24 psi. No smoke. No hesitation. Nothing.

It made 386whp or so on 24 psi.

I'll install the ARPs tomorrow and turn the boost up to 29 or so and see what happens.

All in all the car is a BEAST and I'm overly happy with the entire experience from start to end.

Great numbers.........that's why I put ARP headstuds in my car even though I'm running 23psi (for now). Peace of mind i guess. Hope everything works out with the new head studs.

From personal experience?

At 30psi, I think they are required.

What chance? It was all done under my consent.

I had a lot of friends running 30psi with meth and no head lift so I figure I could get away with the same. This just goes to show that every car is different.

maybe head was not lifting just that the car was getting a bit hot!!
thats what the radiator does to relieve pressure when the car gets hot

on the 2nd dyno sheet they had CF on otherwise you would have had less. i have seen a 30whp difference at times with that hp and CF on compared to no CF. but congrats. a lot of tuners say they have the highest reading dyno in the country.lol.

I think people on this forum shouldn't put ideas in this guys head to make him paranoid about his car.....

It's probably fine.....

Just because the coolant res. overflowed doesn't mean he lifted the head.....

The resovoir might have been 3/4 full to begin with..........

Do you have an uncorrected baseline?

Having correction turned on the after run and no correction on the before run makes the gains of the kit inaccurate
