Disconnect the fuel return line and let it drain while the car is idling.

^ thanks, without looking at the engine bay right now, is the return on the drivers left or right side of the fuel rail?

can i just hook up a 3/8 fuel line to it or do i need to fab something up in order to connect a hose?

Someone said that if you pull the tank drains, gas runs along the underside of the tank and goes everywhere.

I've drained from the bolts under the car a couple times and it works perfect. They're easy to find, pretty sure they're the only two bolts under there. It was only a small amount and some only came from the drivers side, non came out from the right side. After you've done that, disconnect the fuel line from the rail, its 2 10mm bolts or something. energize the fuel pump relay with a paperclip and it'll pump everything out the lines also.
