Does anyone here have a 4.11 final drive with stock turbo????

Ok like the title says. How would a stock turbo evo putting down 400whp be like with a 4.11 for drag racing? Does anyone have that setup? Will it make the car slower with the 4.11 versus stock? I was planning on getting the 4.11 but im on stock turbo but my plans are to go with a t67 p trim hopefully putting down 500whp stock block. Help will be greatly appreciated!

I have asked about this a few times but have never come across someone that has experience with this. I like the idea of longer gearing and not shifting into 5th. If you are going to upgrade the turbo anyways, then you could get the 4.11 and make that turbo really shine.

Yea i know it would do good with upgraded turbo but i wanted to see how its gonna be with stock turbo and launching on stock turbo, i heard its gonna hurt your 1/4 mile time if your on stock turbo and want to know if this is true or not

Stock is 4.53 I believe. Check TRE's website (i'm too lazy), they have all the specs of transmissions.

did you verify the 4.11 works with a 6 speed? Or are you going to switch to a 5 speed? Also is this going to be a track car or street car?

I would love to have this and it seems like it would help even the stock turbo since the hp stays relatively flat from 5500-7000rpms right? I mean, if the car fell flat on its face after 6000 completely then longer gears wouldn't be worth it. Bigger turbos would benefit from it more, obviously, but I'd like to be able to hold a gear longer since my hp doesn't have a crazy drop off. 380+whp/400+trq here. Anybody have experience or want to share?

I run the 4.11 final drive with an evogreen making 421whp and it seems fine. I did it for autocross to get 2nd gear to run 75mph at8000 rpm. But I also drag raced it, and it is ran a 12.2 at 119mph on a 98 degree humid day with a lousy 2.12 60 foot time cause of a bog.

What's the final drive on the MR 6 speed tranny? Would this work on the 6 speed?

Thanks

Do you like the extra room in each gear? How is it driving everyday? Would you have rather kept a closer ratio?

The one thing I would do differently is that I would have spent the money for the shorter 5th gear that shep offers. Highway cruising is a touch too low at 3000rpm with the evogreen turbo and 2.0 engine. Other than that, it works great for me. I thought that I would be waiting a bit longer for spool, but it actually seems to work the other way.

Bringing this one back from the dead. The stock gearing seems pretty short ( 9 ) for driving around town. Seems like I'm always shifting. I may have to open up my trans for repair one day and was thinking of doing this . I have the stock engine /turbo with some boltons (350 whp) I may have a 2.4/30R one day.
I will probably do the evo 8 3rd/4th while its open but wanted to see what other people thought about it. Also, the JDM 5th option. Is it really needed for a the flatlands of Florida.

Luke does now. It works better since the stock turbo is out of breath earlier than the 4th gear and 4.53s really allow.

I'm running a 4.111 final drive with Evo 6 gear ratio's. Final drive was taken/swapped from a Turbo Legnum gearbox.
Stock turbo (Evo5, 10.5cm2 ex housing), 2.3+Mivec engine.
Approx 370-380whp.

I love it, but my car is a little lighter too.
Full tank of gas and me (220lbs) driving is 2860lbs total.

ET is 11.22@120 , 1.58 60ft. crossing in 4th approx 7000rpm. Depends on my tyre pressures That 60ft time was with street tyres, 215/45R17.

Cheers, Mike
