Wink Custom intake manifold work "sneak peak"

Well its custom, but its not custom made. After noticing the stock had potential some local buddies and I decided to see what it would look like if we had the ENTIRE thing ported NOT JUST THE RUNNERS. Local place does some nasty work with clay and what can i say, it turned out so far amazing. the runners nor the throttle body was ported intentionally so we could gauge the progress of the previous work done. The runners are being ported as we speak as also the TB side.

So far it has had over 4 ounces of interior volume removed (which dont sound like much but go ahead and start shredding away thin layers of cast aluminum and see how much it takes to get there ), while at the same time it was polished to a mirror finish and WOW is it smooth. so many of the rough edges were removed. After the final port work is finished we are hoping to remove safely almost 1/2 pound of interior blockage.

The runners and throttle body will be ported next and flow results side by side on the extruded manifold Vs the stock one. Thanks for looking!

SMOOTH AS SILK!!!

Whats amazing about the next few pics, is that the flash light was held on the throttle body side and it was so smoothly polished the entire way through that it was actually bending the light to shine alllllll the way out of the runners.

The pictures do not really do this piece justice. It feels and looks significantly better.

the stock cast is soo rough as you already know.

Ijector seat is smoothed out and there are no more transitions.

Throttle body side with absolutely no transition in ledge or dip

If you want a ported TB, contact WOT. With over 20 years of building IRL, CART and ALMS engines, you won't be disappointed with the attention to detail.

its over $400 in labor according to extrude hone
Since they dont have a flange built they had to custom build a flange for this manifold.
buddy who does it for a living owed me some money and we compromised by him doing me some labor

After the final porting work is done it will be either 1)polished or 2)powdercoated.

I might have another being done here very soon and be willing to get rid of it for less than was quoted powde rcoated your choice of color also. not polished on outside that would be murder

thanks for the responses!

thought it was already setup for a mustang 4.6 or 5.0 tb. or do you have to request them to do so?

I just found this as an alternative to people who dont want to pay $1000-$1500 and still look stock for places where parts are not taken kindly.

Don't do that. After all that work, you need to ceramic coat it to keep the heat out. You can get the ceramic polished if you you are going for the bling factor. Check in with Jet Hot. Swain Tech does not do the type that you can polish.

You need a heat dispersant on the mani, not a ceramic insulator.
