Clutch bolts over torqued...what issues??

I just finished the clutch install. I wasnt able to torque the pressure plate bolts to the flywheel to the 13ftlbs that was specified in the manual, basically because my torque wrench sucks. So they are probably slightly more than that.
What issues could I have if any??>?

You should be okay if they are torqued the same and at least close to the recommended specs.

Any follow up on this? I just did my clutch and flywheel and I also have a bit more than 13 ft lbs on the clutch bolts, and, now when I give the car a lot of gas I get a really bad "jerking" from the what I beleive to be the clutch. Any ideas? I put 1000 miles on the new clutch before ever trying to drive it hard.

the torque spec is primarily to keep uniform torque between all the bolts. also, since they are smaller bolts, you can't tighten them to much or they will break. if they didn't break, and they are all close to the same torque, you wont have any problems. under torquing them can cause other issues, like not being tightened down enough, or backing out because the lockring doesn't hold it in place.

I'd say I have an even 20 Ft lbs on them all. Any thoughts on the high load "jerking" ? I did a very thorough job on the clutch install. I'm a bit stumped with this one.

I'd not think it was related to the torque on your clutch bolts...

I'm thinking maybe its an engine thing, when hard on the gas it starts "cutting out" if you will-around 3-4k in every gear, the higher the gear, the less violent the jerking and cutting out seems to be.... I cleaned the MAF, no change.

shorten your spark plug gap. if your expereinceing a hessitation/jerking its prolly the spark blowing out.

Will do. It seems weird though that it started just after re-assemling from the clutch change...

Checked the plugs and they are all good and gapped to .026. Not sure what to do next...
